When Elon Musk presented his new neural network Grok in 2023, it was already clear that it would be able to surpass existing AIs in the future. In February 2025, the whole world learned about Grok 3, which, according to its developers, can “help understand the nature of the Universe”.
Capabilities of Grok 3 by xAI
Grok 3 is an innovative version of a chatbot from xAI. It includes several algorithms, such as Grok 3 Reasoning, which “humanize” responses to queries by applying a reasoning function. To train this network, unconventional databases were partially used, including court decisions and other documents that other chatbots ignore.
Grok 3 is created as an advanced assistant capable of generating answers to questions and creating images. But not only that. With this neural network, you can also:
- conduct scientific research in the fields of mathematics and programming, using problem-solving algorithms;
- collaboratively develop games;
- set tasks for complex multi-level computations;
- conduct deep analysis of the results obtained, using reasoning functions and Big Brain mode for precise calculations.
Such extensive functionality, undoubtedly, requires high capabilities.
To operate, Grok 3 utilizes all the resources of xAI Colossus, which is equipped with 200,000 Nvidia H100 chips.
Testing Grok 3
AI technology experts did not miss the opportunity to test the new neural network by Elon Musk.
OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy gave Grok 3 various tasks:
- creating a webpage similar to the game Settlers of Catan with clear indication of the number and numbering of cells;
- developing algorithms for winning the game of tic-tac-toe;
- generating responses based on reasoning and conducting deep analysis on the topic of GPT-2 training;
- and others.
As a result, Karpaty noted that Grok 3 performed better than OpenAI o1 pro, DeepSeek-R1, Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking, and others with many tasks.
In the near future, AI will receive voice control. Full access to all features of the new neural network will be available to subscribers of social network X under the SuperGrok subscription. The cost of use will be $30 per month.
